Australian Olympian Arrives at NTGA
We were delighted to welcome Blake Gaudry and his coach Nikolay Zhuravlev to NTGA for a Pre-Olympic training camp.
Northampton Trampoline Centre was chosen to host Australia’s only trampoline representative at London 2012 after two previous successful visits. Blake Gaudry, 20 years old, had already trained in Northampton prior to last years World Championships in Birmingham, and also before the Olympic Test Event in January earlier this year.
Along with equipment and facilities that mirror the Olympic event, Blake and Nikolay are able to stay on-site at Kings Park Conference Centre, an important factor as they acclimatise and complete final preparations for the games.
Thanks to Nuffield Health Northampton, who provided a recovery session for Blake and Nikolay during their stay after a hard training session.
Blake arrived on Thursday 12th July and trained three times daily until departing for the Olympic Village in London on Tuesday 17th July. He looked in great shape and feels right at home in Northampton, we’re really glad him and Nikolay enjoyed their time with us.
We would like wish Blake all the best on 3rd August when he competes in the Men’s Trampoline Event at London 2012.
