Tracy to coach at London 2012

NTGA coach Tracy Whittaker-Smith has been announced as Great Britain’s Olympic coach for trampoline.

Tracy was delighted to accept the opportunity to work with Kat Driscoll, based at Apollo Trampoline Club, Tyne and Wear. As well as working with Driscoll in recent years on the international stage, Tracy has had the experience of having previously been at two Olympic Games, however this will be her first as official team coach.

Before departing for Pre-Olympic training at Lilleshall National Sports Centre Tracy said: “It is a huge honour to support Katherine & Bill Leach (Kat’s personal coach), and GBR trampoline at the 2012 London Olympic Games. I very much hope that everyone involved with British trampolining gets behind Kat to give her the support she deserves as a very worthy Olympian.”

It is hoped that Tracy’s experience, along with a successful working relationship with Kat, will allow her to prepare effectively and perform at her optimum level in London.

As they now prepare to leave for the Olympic Village on Thursday, everyone at NTGA would like to congratulate Tracy on her selection and wish Kat the very best at London 2012!
