Gold Rush at Regional Championships
A dominant performance from the NTGA team travelling to Nottingham for the East Midlands Championships 2017 saw our members claim wins in no fewer than nine individual categories.
There were a further ten individual medals won, along with ten team medals including six gold, taking the total medal haul for the event on Sunday 22nd October to twenty-nine.
Kicking the day off in style, the NTGA members in the 11-12 Novice category claimed a clean sweep of the first five places as Emily Simpson topped the pile with 50.80. Megan Thomas followed closely in second place with 50.60 and Sam Wensley finished in third with 50.50. Lucy Carter (4th) and Sophie Mundy (5th) completed the clean sweep, with Giorgia Gallone (7th), Evie Baker (11th) and Ruby Markham (13th) completing the NTGA results.
An impressive performance from Isobel Scott, which saw her register the highest execution scores across all categories, secured a first place finish in the 9-10 Novice with 54.90. Sisters Sydney and Savanna Wootton completed the podium with 53.50 and 52.70 respectively. Beth Waine was just behind in fourth place with 52.40 and Cassia Bradley (5th), Mia Scott (6th) and Evie Chapman (10th) completed the NTGA results.
As the sole NTGA representative in the 13-14 Novice category Susanna Trimble jumped to victory with a score of 50.60, over one mark ahead of the nearest competitor.
NTGA members recorded a one to four finish in the 13-14 Intermediate category, with Esme Feasey leading the way as she scored 51.25. Katie Bradbury was in second with 50.70, Georgia Bailey finished in third with 50.30 and Ella Thomas had to settle for fourth with 49.65.
In the 11-12 Intermediate category there was a win for Freya Portrey as she scored 51.70 to take top spot, Susie Kemish joined her on the podium in third with 49.80 and Jacob Fleet finished fifth with 47.55.
Jessica Carter recorded a convincing performance in the Over 15 Intermediate category as she won with a score of 49.60, nearly two marks ahead of second place.
There was a double celebration for the Rands family in the Advanced category as Esme secured victory in the Over 15’s with 51.00 and Sofia won the 13-14’s with a score of 52.90. Charlotte Chambers scored 50.55 to win a bronze medal and Mela Moseley just missed out on a podium finish as 48.75 placed her fourth.
At Elite level NTGA claimed the first seven places in a competitive category. Josh Jones’s execution scores were the difference as he won the gold medal with 60.95, just ahead of Ross Tait in second with 60.40 and India Farrar in third with 59.05. Harry Johnson (4th), Reece Coleman (5th), Charlotte Price (6th) & Rafferty Booler-Stewart (7th) completed the NTGA clean sweep. Freya Newcombe (11th), Alex Oliver (12th), Alex Pitfield (13th) and Mollie Johnson (14th) completed the NTGA results.
