Gold for Trio in Telford

NTGA’s top trampoline gymnasts travelled to Telford on 28-29 April to compete at the 1st Spring Event Series of 2018.

NTGA members produced some great performances as they looked to secure qualification to the NDP Finals and British Championships respectively, which included six podium finishes from the team of fourteen.

Continuing her good run of form from last year and moving up in age group Lois Moseley’s superior first round score proved the difference as she recorded a three round total of 135.640 to claim top spot in the FIG 13-14 Female category.

Also moving up in age group, double World medallist Tyler Cole-Dyer kicked his year off in style with a superbly executed third round routine to secure a convincing win in the FIG 13-14 Male category with a three round total of 142.655.

Fresh from securing Great Britain a place at the Youth Olympics Andrew Stamp impressed as he moved up in age group, scoring the highest first round routine across all age groups on his way to winning the FIG 17-21 Male category with a three round total of 162.885. Elsewhere in this category Josh Jones scored 151.935 to finish in 5th and an unfortunate error for Ross Tait left him in 18th.

In the FIG 15-16 Female current British Champion Brodie Hove-Coleman scored 138.680 to finish 2nd as she moved up in age group and Great Britain international Abigail Brown scored 136.015 to secure a third place finish.

A first outing at FIG for Freya Newcombe saw her finish in 5th in the 11-12 Female category with a score of 129.500, just ahead of team-mate India Farrar in 6th with 129.490 and Emily Chapman in 10th with 125.530.

Having started the season at NDP 1 Beth Waine recorded a brilliant performance in the NDP Performance 9-10 Female category to score 77.560 as she collected a bronze medal.

In the NDP Performance 13-14 Male category Reece Coleman was just 0.24 away from a podium place as he scored 128.135 to finish in 4th. It was a similar result in the 13-14 Female category as Mollie Johnson scored 126.350 to finish 4th and Georgia Roseblade made her Spring Series debut in the 11-12 Female, scoring 122.985 to finish 7th.

Congratulations to all the members, thank you to the coaches and judges for giving up their time and thank you to the gymnast’s families for your fantastic support.
