Regional Team Finals 2018
Having recently gained qualification to represent the East Midlands 19 NTGA members travelled to compete at the Regional Team Finals in Birmingham on 16-17 June 2018, along with over 750 trampoline gymnasts from across the country,
Fantastic performances over the weekend saw NTGA members come away with a total of 12 individual medals, with 14 members finishing within the top 8 of their categories to progress to the National Development Plan (NDP) Finals in July.
There were successes at every level for NTGA, starting with NDP 1 where Savanna Wootton & Mia Scott secured an NTGA one-two in the 9-10 Female category. Savanna scored 53.80 to win gold whilst Mia registered a score of 53.40 to finish just behind in 2nd. Benjamin Small jumped to a convincing victory in the 9-10 Male category, his score of 54.90 was over 2 marks ahead of the nearest competitor. Teammate George Meech scored 51.90 to finish 5th.
It was another NTGA one-two in the NDP 2 11-12 Male category as Edward Norris scored 53.40 to take top spot, ahead of Archie Bradley in 2nd with a total score of 52.00. Elsewhere at NDP 2 Megan Thomas finished 9th with 52.00 in the 13+ Female and an unfortunate error for Cassia Bradley saw her finish 20th in the 9-10 Female.
At NDP 3 Marika Auzenberga secured a silver medal in the 9-10 Female category as she scored 54.80 and Isobel Scott joined her on the podium as she scored 53.90 to claim 3rd place.
Strong performances from Evie Chapman & Freya Portrey saw them victorious in their respective categories at NDP 4. Evie’s score of 53.90 proved too much for the opposition in the 9-10 Female as she collected the gold medal whilst Freya topped the pile in the 11-12 Female with 53.50, ensuring a good margin of victory whilst the others battled it out for the remaining podium positions. In the 13+ Male category Jacob Fleet scored 52.60 to win the silver medal, which was just 0.20 away from the top spot. A close contest saw Katie Bradbury in 5th place with 53.10 as just 0.40 separated 1st and 5th in the 13+ Female.
Sofia Rands continued her good run of form as she scored 54.50 in the NDP 5 13-14 Female category to win 1st place, elsewhere Charlotte Chambers finished in 22nd and Megan Loughney finished 23rd. In the largest field of the day with 38 gymnasts Esme Rands scored 53.50 to win a silver medal in the 15+ Female category, just 0.30 away from 1st place and Mela Moseley scored 51.70 to finish 10th.
Congratulations to all the gymnasts! A huge thank you to Dani Martin, Terrie Jones & Lawrence Breslin for their tireless coaching across the weekend and also to Clive Morgan for his judging on both days.
