41 Medals at Regional Compulsory

NTGA’s regional trampoline gymnasts produced a dominant display at the NDP Regional Compulsory Event in Loughborough on Sunday 19 November.

Kick-starting the 2018 season in style NTGA secured a total haul of 41 medals, including 18 individual wins and a further 6 team victories.

At NDP 5 Sofia Rands recorded the highest total score of the day as she won the 13-14 Female with 53.30, Charlotte Chambers won the silver medal as she scored 50.10. In the 15+ Female Esme Rands topped the pile as she scored 51.25 to finish in 1st, Mela Moseley recorded a score of 50.15 to finish 3rd.

It was a close contest in the NDP 4 13+ Female, with Katie Bradbury coming out on top as she scored 50.50, ahead of Susie Kemish in 2nd with 50.25 and Esme Feasey in 3rd, even closer with 50.20. In the 13+ Male category Jacob Fleet was victorious as he scored 50.20 and Lewis Maitland-Knibb finished in 2nd with 47.85. Freya Portrey secured a silver medal in the 11-12 Female scoring 49.60, just 0.35 behind the leader.

As NTGA’s sole competitor at NDP 3 Jessica Carter claimed a 3rd place finish in the 13+ Female, scoring 48.50.

Evie Chapman recorded the highest second round execution score of the day as she scored a total of 52.15 to win the NDP 2  9-10 Female, ahead of Sydney Wootton who scored 51.75 to finish 2nd. Another NTGA one-two saw Susanna Trimble win gold in the 13+ Female with 51.70, followed by Megan Thomas in 2nd with 51.25. There was also a win for Lucy Carter in the 11-12 Female as she scored 48.80.

At NDP 1 the NTGA girls dominated the 9-10 Female category claiming the first six places. On her way to gold Savanna Wootton recorded the highest first round score of the day and finished with 52.80, Marika Auzenberga finished 2nd with 51.95 and Mia Scott scored 51.70 to finish 3rd. Competing in the 7-8 Male, Zakary Gayton secured a gold medal with a total of 50.45, as did Georgina Nelson in the 11-12 Female, scoring 50.75. Benjamin small also recorded a win in the 9-10 Male.

Impressive performances at Club Level 3 resulted in clean sweeps of the podium for NTGA members in the 9-10 and 11-12 Female categories. Phoebe Brown lead the way with a score of 50.70 in the 9-10, followed by Lily Adams in 2nd (49.50) and Lottie Beardsmore in 3rd (49.10). In the 11-12 it was Holly Souter who took gold with a score of 50.80, followed by Tori Glover in 2nd and Evie Baker in 3rd, both scoring 49.50 but separated on tie-break. Not to be outdone, the 11-12 Male NTGA members secured a one-two with Jamie Dartnell posting a winning score of 49.60 and Archie Bradley scoring 47.10 to finish 2nd. There were also wins for Hollie Love in the 7-8 Female, scoring 47.10 and Jonathan Rowland in the 13+ Male as he scored 49.00.

At Club Level 1 Olivia Robinson scored 49.85 in the 13+ Female to win 1st place. Also victorious, at Club Level 2, was Lily Wallis as she scored 50.45 in the 7-8 Female to win gold.

Congratulations to all the gymnasts on some fantastic performances. Thank you to the coaches, judges and volunteers for giving up their time, particularly judge Clive Morgan who came straight from the airport after flying home from the World Age Group Competition in Bulgaria.
