Northampton Trampoline Centre
Opened Friday 1st December 2006, Northampton Trampoline Centre is a world class facility, purpose built for trampolining and used every day by community and high performance gymnasts.
With 12 Olympic sized trampolines, including 3 floor level trampolines for special needs and pre-school, a foam landing pit, static and bungee rigs, and state of the art video analysis, the Trampoline Centre is widely regarded as one of the best training facilities in Europe.
Funding from English Gymnastics and Sport England, through the Community Club Development Fund, meant the Centre could be built and the club could develop trampoline gymnastics in Northamptonshire by coaching the local community through to more advanced gymnasts. With floor level trampolines, the Centre can cater for people with special needs and also wheelchair users in a safe and user friendly environment. The foam landing pit and video analysis, along with Olympic specification trampolines, have attracted interest from all over the World with gymnasts from Switzerland, Portugal, Japan and Australia all visiting for training camps.
In 2012 Northampton Trampoline Centre was selected to host Team Japan and Team Australia’s trampoline gymnasts as a pre-Olympic training base for London 2012. After visiting various facilities in the UK during 2011, the respective teams decided that the Trampoline Centre would be “the best place to prepare the gymnasts before the Olympic Games in London.”
