Sports Awards


Amanda Harris of Northamptonshire Trampolining Gymnastics Academy won the coveted Arthur Nicholson Sports Personality of the Year and also the Sportswomen of the Year! Amanda will now be automatically nominated for the County Sports Awards later this year, hosted by Northamptonshire Sport.

Amanda Harris Born and bred in the Kettering Borough, 18yr old Amanda finished 2nd at over 19's British Championships and represented Great Britain at World Age Games in Quebec, Canada, finishing 19th. Amanda also coaches for the Northamptonshire Trampoline Gymnastics Academy .



Beijing
Olympic Games





Jaime Moore and coach Tracy Whittaker-Smith travelled with the Team GB to Macau to the British Olympic Association Holding Camp and then on to Beijing for the Games. Jaime was selected as reserve for the Olympics in Beijing . Jaime secured Great Britain the one and only place last year at the World Championships but just lost out in the trial process held in March and April this year. Community


The Summer Fun trampoline sessions in Northampton and Kettering were a great success this year with many children from Northants participating. Lots of fun and hundreds of awards were achieved throughout the summer programme.

Many thanks to all the coaches for giving their time and efforts.



World Class Programme


Good results & targets met have left NTGA members Jaime Moore and James Higgins been offered continuation of their places on the UK Sport's Podium Programme whilst younger members Yasmin Gumbs and Steve Walsh have been invited to continue on the UK Sport Development Programme.



Goodbyes


NTGA would like to wish Liane Judge, coach to Ability Zone, Northampton Academy and Northampton Trampoline Centre all the best of luck in her new role as Mickey Mouse at Disneyland, Paris . Thank you for all your time and efforts at NTGA over the last 2 years.

 

Anna Steel one of NTGA's longest serving coaches has decided to take a break from coaching. Sincere thanks to Anna for all the years she has coached for us.

 

Maddie Brown moves to Sheffield to start her University Degree this month. Maddie is one of NTGA's longest serving members.
